Urban Decay vs Too faced

Hello everyone, in this blog we will be discussing & analyzing the SEO and the webpage content for these two brands:
SEO is an important consideration for marketers because it will help to increase sales as well making the website popular and appear on the first page when searching upon most used keywords. The most popular keyword used within Urban Decay and Too Faced is eye shadow palettes. These two brands have similar ranking due to its similar keywords

Urban Decays strengths are its use of keyword usage. Too faced strengths are its use of the content such as description and attractive images. The keyword sentences “High Pigmentation eye shadows” are found frequently when searching through google. Other observations are that both sites are easy to navigate due to the content being displayed professionally and it’s well organized. When searching for content using the keywords: eye shadow, urban Decay ranked number 4. When searching for content using the keywords: natural matte, Too Faced ranked number one. The two sites have similar subcategories but they are different when it comes to the layout. Urban Decay is more mature & sultry looking as Too Faced looks sweet & girly.

Their main color for text is purple but when you hover over text it is white. The title (brand name) is white which makes it stand out because the site header border is dark purple.
The title is black and written in cursive format which showcases their brand because it’s fancy. The subtitles are white which stands out from the background which allows the viewer to see clearly. When hovering over the subtitles it changes to a light pink shade which represents their main brand color.  
Quality of Visual Content:
Urban decay’s visuals were very attractive because they included close up images of the eye shadow pallets and the packaging. They also included tutorials using their products.
Too faced visuals were very appealing. They included many snap shots of their products, and for the eye shadow pallets they included a close up images of each single shadow in the pallet. They also included videos which shows how to apply the eye shadow and different methods on how the eye shadow pallet could be used.

   This data shows how Urban decay’s sales have increased over the past few months compared to too faced. Too faced was steady from April to October and increased a bit more during January. Australia searched Too Faced the most and urban decay was mostly searched by Ireland (Google, 2016)

   In conclusion, in the cosmetics industry; Urban Decay and Too faced are well-known and high quality brands. Using keyword sentences throughout their sites like “eye shadow palettes” which allows new user to easily find their websites. In my opinion the overall winner of this SEO Search analysis is Urban Decay because they have a high ranking and their keywords are commonly used by viewers.
