L'Oreal vs M.A.C on Twitter by Isha Sharma

L’Oreal
L’Oreal posts about 3-5 times a day. L’Oreal posts about promotional items such as for their eyeshadow and other products.  L’Oreal’s most recent successful post was on March 9th. They had 27 retweets and 96 favorites. I think that this post was successful because it has to do with an event called “Paris Fashion Week” which is one of the biggest events for the latest fashion trends.

Something interesting to note is the hashtags that are repeated on Twitter for L’Oreal. For example, they used the hashtag #PFW which stood for Paris Fashion Week.

Here is an example of when L’Oreal used the 50/50 rule for International Women day. They wanted to make a post to appreciate women world-wide.

M.A.C posts around 5-6 times each day on Twitter.  M.A.C posts about promotions about either their upcoming products or products they’re trying to raise awareness about.
An example where M.A.C used the 50/50 rule was when they congratulated John Stapleson on winning a Hollywood Beauty award.
M.A.C’s most recent and successful post is the one about Caitlyn Jenner. There are 7.4K retweets and 17K favorites. I think this post was successful because a lot of people find courage in what Caitlyn did with her sex change and how she is embracing her new life as a women.
